Hans Anders and MKIN offer local driving licence exams

Gorinchem, 23 June 2021 – On or after the 75th birthday, a medical examination is required every 5 years to renew your driving licence. The Medische Keuringsinstituut (MKIN, medical examination institute) and Hans Anders have joined forces to make this examination more easily accessible for senior citizens. From mid-July, senior citizens can visit various Hans Anders shops for a quick and easy driving licence exam by a medical examiner. An appointment with a MKIN doctor can be made via phone number 088 - 274 5511 (local rates apply) or mkin.nl/hansanders.

On the road again as quickly as possible

'On or after the 75th birthday, you can only renew your driving licence after passing a medical examination. The MKIN and Hans Anders are happy to help make this process accessible so that everyone can get back on the road as quickly as possible. We can support you where we are needed thanks to our experience with these medical exams and the CBR. Through our cooperation, people can easily undergo a medical exam in a number of Hans Anders shops,' says Steef van 't Pad Bosch (MKIN initiator).

Hans Anders and MKIN, logical partners

Sanne Oosterhoff, Group Operations Director, Hans Anders: 'Your senses, hearing, and seeing, all play an important role in driving and mobility. Which is why it feels very logical for Hans Anders to offer good eye and hearing care as well as local driving licence exams in about 50 shops in the Netherlands. Together with MKIN, we've selected shops in places where there is demand and where we have the needed space available to help people in peace. For many, the exam takes place close by in familiar surroundings. We also have the space for it in the shop and many of the necessary resources are already there. And, if an eye measurement or a hearing test is required, customers are, of course right at home in our shop.'

Sanne is happy with the partnership: 'MKIN is the right partner for us to do this in a good way. It's an experienced and reliable organisation that can guarantee high quality with the expertise of their medical examiners.

Making an appointment with the medical examiner

Before the appointment, a Health Certificate must be requested from the CBR (Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing). Due to the busy schedule at the CBR, it is recommended you apply for the Health Certificate four months before your driving licence expires. During the 75+ examination, the MKIN doctor assesses whether your driving is still safe and responsible. The doctor examines your health, checking, among other things, your blood pressure, blood glucose, and eyesight. An appointment with a MKIN doctor in a Hans Anders shop can be made via phone number 088 - 274 5511 (local rates apply) or mkin.nl/hansanders. The exam costs 49.95 euros (including 21% VAT). Hans Anders and MKIN work with a careful protocol to ensure a safe and responsible visit to the shop.

From mid-July, appointments can be made in: Zwijndrecht, Raalte, Winterswijk, Arnhem, Leerdam, Delft, Rotterdam, Hoorn, Dordrecht, Apeldoorn, Bovenkarspel, Muiden, Deventer, Nijmegen, Zutphen, Purmerend, Doetinchem, Rijswijk, Lelystad, Almere, The Hague, and Amsterdam. New shops will be launched in August and September.
